What is a schedule of work?
The most commonly used schedule in the work place is a physical or online document that contains the hours of work for a certain period of time. A week, fortnight etc.
What is a schedule of work like?
A work schedule is like a Calender for the work place people can see when they need to be working and for how long , most of the time such a schedule is subject to much change often however they normally have a solid base. This schedule is also similar to a Calender as it if often planned in advance and can be seen online as planned personally as well as publically.
What is the Purpose of a work schedule?
The main purpose of this document is to easily organise time so that the information can be distributed en masse. For example at a company such as Woolworths with hundreds of employees at each store, using an online schedule that is easily accessed through a company website is a perfect way to organise people to make sure everyone knows when to come in and work.
What are the different types of schedules of work?
There are different schedules that people use personally or that companies use to try and order the business. The same work schedule can be interpreted in different ways by the organisation and also by the individual. There is fixed shifts which don’t change week to week, Split shifts shared by multiple people, irregular shifts these shifts change week to week, there is also rotating shifts which by name rotate the staff around from week to week in a pattern.
Where does the creation of a schedule of work fit into process of building and maintaining a website?
The schedule fits in with the website of an organisation or company beforehand as physical document that is used similar to the online version in helping and maintaining a solid way of conveying information with drawings graphs and specification. It becomes easier use the schedule and maintain it with up to date information once the website is up and running and the schedule can be transitioned into the online format. Once the website is solid and maintained regularly the online schedule becomes far and beyond the stronger format of the two, as the online schedule can have immediate changes made to it that are accessible upon immediate update, whereas the physical version has to be reprinted with every change and update to the schedule.
What terms are used when creating a schedule of work?
There are many terms often used when creating a work schedule especially to people who are not used to creating such a schedule. Often a template is used which are all accessible easily on the internet, also Excel the use of this through the Microsoft office which is very easy to calculate hours and organise data using formulas and the easy format of Excel. Who would most benefit from this knowledge?
This knowledge primarily targets people who are looking to setup their own work schedule. Clearly this isn’t for a typical employee as he or she would be following the work schedule. The person who is gathering this information can have little experience with work schedules and get a firm grasp of what they are by the end of reading. These articles are also targeted at team managers and senior managers because they are about setting up a schedule for others to follow. There are no specific laws that govern each work schedule other than for different companies you must do a minimum amount of hours and cannot do more than the maximum hours. There isn’t massive cultural impact however to a certain extent work schedules would be flexible to religion and holidays for certain people. Climate would have an impact to a certain extent for example countries where it snows some people would have difficulty reaching work or leaving so hours would be changed, there is not much other climate impact on this issue.
